Our People
Les Hoey MBE
Chairman
Les is married with 3 children and 3 grandchildren. He has a full time job with Network Rail In Motherwell and every spare minute he has he gives to his Charity.
Les's commitment to his charity work started 27 years ago when his young daughter Shelley was diagnosed with Leukemia. She spent months in Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow and wanted to meet the pop group Boyzone. Les contacted their management who were kind enough to invite Shelley and her friends to meet the band when they played in Glasgow.
When Les saw the difference this made to Shelley he decided then and there he would like to give other Children with Life Threatening Illnesses the same happiness and so it all began.
In July 2013 Les was honoured to meet The Queen and recieved his MBE for his services to Charity.
Since then, Les has raised over £2 million for other fantastic causes. In 2014 Les and his team of volunteers decided to become an official charity and in September Les Hoey MBE DreamMaker Foundation became a reality.
