Les is married with 3 children and 3 grandchildren.
He has a full time job was with Network Rail In Motherwell up until he retired from there in October 2023
Les's commitment to his charity work started 30 years
ago when his young daughter Shelley was diagnosed with Leukemia. She
spent months in Yorkhill Hospital in Glasgow and wanted to meet the pop
group Boyzone. Les contacted their management who were kind enough to
invite Shelley and her friends to meet the band when they played in
Glasgow.
When Les saw the difference this made to Shelley he decided then and
there he would like to give other Children with Life Threatening
Illnesses the same happiness and so it all began.
In July 2013 Les was honoured to meet The Queen and recieved his MBE for his services to Charity.
